Vandals have pulled down two Electricity Towers at a sub-station belonging to the Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution (PHED) Plc in Bayelsa state leading to interruption in power supply in the Amassoma-Tombia area in the state.

Meanwhile, PHED has apologized to her customers in the affected area for the power outage largely caused by the vandals and are currently in the process of restoring power to the affected area. In the words of the management, ‘we profusely apologize to the Amassuma-Tombi community for the power outage and the inconveniences this may have caused members of the community’.
The energy distribution company explained that the power failure in the area was due to the activity of vandals who pulled down two Electric Towers in the community.
However, the company expressed their commitment to providing stable power supply to the state and appealed to the state government to intervene in the matter and provide support towards rebuilding the damaged Electric Towers.
The company noted that the consequence of incessant vandalization of her infrastructure is responsible for the poor power supply and hardship experienced in several communities, they urged communities to be vigilant and report saboteurs and criminals who destroy facilities meant for public good.
